Ensure EPREL product registration with
a qualified electronic seal

Do you manufacture or import appliances that carry an energy label? Since January 1, 2019, all such appliances must be registered in the EPREL database, which suppliers are required to use when registering their products.

Who is this obligation for?

  • manufacturers of such appliances based in an EU member state,
  • authorized representatives of manufacturers in the EU,
  • importers into an EU member state.
Without e-seal verification, new products cannot be registered or modified. As a result, the products are not publicly visible and, as of October 22, 2024, they cannot be legally sold.

What is qualified electronic seal?

A Qualified Electronic Seal (abbreviated as QES-S) is the legal equivalent of a Qualified Electronic Signature. It enables the secure, reliable, and unambiguous identification of the legal entity that created the seal. QES-S is issued exclusively to legal entities or public authorities for the purpose of creating qualified electronic seals, which serve as a digital replacement for a physical stamp and handwritten signature of a legal entity.

How to register on the EPREL platform?

The EPREL platform provides publicly available information as well as technical data that is accessible only to market surveillance authorities of the Member States for the purpose of compliance checks. To register in the EPREL supplier database, the supplier is required to electronically verify their organization. This verification is carried out using a qualified seal, based on a qualified electronic seal certificate.
