Our customer

We collaborated on the project with AjTy, a supplier of alarm control panels and sensor systems integrated into the solution. AjTy also provides the security system for Art Gallery Lomnica, a cultural institution with free public access whose collections consist of valuable artworks.

The gallery had long faced the challenge of effectively securing and protecting its exhibits in an environment where the artworks are normally accessible to visitors.

Our challenge and goals

Before the solution was deployed, the gallery guard only had access to a numerical identification of the alarm zone. On its own, this information provided very little context — the guard had to manually look up which building and exact location the artwork was in, physically go there, and only then assess the situation. The entire process took tens of minutes.

The situation was further complicated by the fact that, in a gallery with free public access, false alarms occur frequently — caused by accidental touches from visitors, vibrations, or other triggers without any real threat. Despite this, the guard had to physically verify every alarm.

The biggest challenge of the project was integrating third-party systems – the AjTy alarm control panel, which communicates via a specific protocol, and the gallery’s artwork database – while maintaining full operational resilience of the system.

Our solution

For Art Gallery Lomnica, we designed and implemented BIT Art Guard — a ready-to-use monitoring system developed to protect artworks. The solution integrates directly with the gallery’s API, regularly synchronizing complete artwork records, including their location, description, and photographs.

The system is connected to alarm control panels supplied by AjTy. When a sensor detects movement or contact near an artwork, the application identifies the specific piece within five seconds, displays its location, and provides access to a live stream from the assigned camera.

Thanks to regular synchronization, the system remains fully functional even during an outage. The guard therefore always has access to up-to-date data and continuous visibility over the status of the collections.

Automatic assignment of the alarm zone to a specific artwork

Real-time camera stream display during an active alarm

Audio and visual alerts for the guard

Historical alarm log with timestamps

Artwork database synchronization, including images and locations

Alarm control panel management and configuration

Benefits for the client

Response speed

The guard can instantly identify the artwork and assess the situation.

Camera preview

Automatic connection of the alarm with the camera stream.

Precise localization

Instant display of the building, room, and exact location of the artwork.

Historical log

A complete alarm audit enables retrospective incident investigation as well as the identification of faulty sensors.

Operational resilience

The system operates continuously thanks to regular synchronization.

Easy scalability

The modular architecture allows new control panels, cameras, or integrations to be added easily.

Čo na to zákazník

Náš tím na recepcii si pochvaľuje túto metódu, nakoľko im odpadlo množstvo práce. Takisto naši zákazníci nemusia čakať v rade na podpísanie dokumentov.
